The Dutch Tax and Customs Administration is doing rules for many years but was still having issues with the time to market of new legislation. A deep analysis of the semantics of the legal changes and a new methodology based on a controlled natural language and code generation was proposed to improve the agility of policy implementation.

Specification of a new methodology (Landelijke Regelaanpak) for traffic management based on generic rules to request traffic services based on generalized traffic norms and policy restrictions. In collaboration with traffic management authorities (e.g. counties, provinces, or cities) in the Netherlands

Project management and specifications in a one year software development project for the ViVA application. Challenges included the involvement of the business users from sevelal regions and the short development cycles.

Review on the positioning of rules in the new architecture for the Port of Rotterdam. Implementation of a general framework in Aion that allows re-use of rules across multiple tasks. Analysis of rules related to security, dangerous goods, piloting and environment regulations and policies.

2000 | Public Works and Water Management


Harvest business rules from documentation of a traffic management system. Goal is to re-design all business rules in a form that is declarative and easily understood by the business. Design a methodology to translate informal business specifications to formal rules. Important is that the formal business rules can be subject to a quality check and that a trace between informal specifications, formal specifications and implementation is always available.,Ministry of Transport
